Pain is not a normal part of life, and you don’t have to just live with it. Medication can help you get through the day, but there are other ways to relieve chronic or occasional pain – and it doesn’t mean going to a massage therapist every day.
I can certainly help relieve your pain during a restorative massage session, but what about between sessions? Is there something you can do to care for yourself? Yes, there is!
I recently completed 40 intensive hours of training in Yoga Tune Up®, where I learned about the Roll Model® from Jill Miller. Not only does it make you stronger, improve balance, and tackle pain and stress, but it’s fun and easy to learn!
All you need are a set of therapy balls and a little instruction. Jill has a book out, or you can learn from videos on her website. Most of these movements take just a few minutes to do and will contribute in amazing ways to your whole body wellness.
Check out this video to see what this is all about. As shown here, therapy balls are a great way to relieve all the tension you hold in your shoulders after slumping in front of a computer for hours on end.
Best of all, this method can be used by anyone, regardless of age, activity level, or physical condition. It’s safe, easy to learn, and does a remarkable job of melting away nagging pain and giving your better body awareness. You may even find you can trash those pain pills by spending some regular time having fun with these exercises.
But the benefits don’t stop there. Many people with emotional pain also find therapy balls a playful way to relax, relieve anxiety, and take care of themselves. Especially if you’re a caregiver, you owe it to yourself to take a few moments to care for yourself.
So who doesn’t want to feel better? I’d be happy to tell you more about this simple method – just give me a call!
Join me on August 8 from 1 to 2:30P at ROC City Wellness for my Ready to Roll workshop. I’ll be teaching self-massage techniques to erase pain and enhance performance. Click here for more information.
