You’ve heard me sing the praises of Yoga Tune Up® balls, but now it’s time for my patients to chime in. Here’s what a few of them have to say about my recent workshop.
As a licensed chiropractor, Dr. Matthew Schirmer deals with issues of pain and movement daily. At my recent workshop, he learned additional techniques for using the Tune Up balls to deal with soft-tissue disorders.
“I enjoyed learning about how the Tune Up balls can be used both therapeutically and to help my patients care for themselves between visits,” says Schirmer. “Particularly when dealing with mid-back discomfort, the larger plush ball is a good fit for my needs.” Schirmer supports his patients’ use of the Tune Up balls to deal with twinges or tightness so that pain issues can be addressed as soon as they pop up.
Athletes are always looking for new ways to deal with the inevitable aches and pains that accompany hard exercise. Beth Hornak is a vigorous triathlete who has a collection of balls and foam rollers she has used over the years, but she fell in love with the Tune Up balls at my workshop.
“I’ve been in and out of injury, but I was blown away by what these balls could do—and I don’t have to be a contortionist to benefit from using them!” I helped Beth develop an athletic protocol that not only zeroed in on her problem areas but empowered her to ease her knee pain when it comes to visit.
“I just won a split relay to sprint with my daughter that had some serious elevation challenges,” says Beth. “I can honestly say that my knees performed beautifully and feel great just a day later, due in large part to my work with the Tune Up balls.”
Jean Blasdell is an avid runner who has also benefitted from both my massage therapy and new workshop techniques.
“During Carol’s workshop, I was struggling to get the correct placement of the balls on my neck. Carol was right there, helping me make the minor adjustments that worked for me. The Yoga Tune Up balls are a great way for me to release tension and soreness as a supplement to my regular massages with Carol.”
Join me for my next workshop at ROC City Wellness on September 26 from 1-2:30. We’re focusing on shoulders! For details, contact Carol Kennedy (carol@carolkennedyLMT.com, 585-336-9873) or visit my website.
